The event From Silos to Ecosystems gave insights into the transition from fragmented innovation structures toward integrated ecosystems. The Highlight-Video below gives a good insight how the event brought together stakeholders from industry, academia, and politics to discuss strategies for collaboration, competitiveness and sustainability.
As part of this initiative SEMICONDUCTOR-X coordinated by Intel Corporation / Harald Gossner aims to provide a significant contribution with its use cases making supply chains more resilient.
Highlights
✅ Sonja Pierer from Intel Corporation joined Panel II: “Leadership and Responsibility – Who makes Germany and Europe a digital industrial location?” with focussing on how the creation of data spaces enables secure, collaborative environments that allow data to flow across industries.
✅ Haris Avgoustinos from EXPO21XX led a workshop together with Michael Jochem and Christian Kleinhans on End-to-End-Security in dataspaces to empower companies to understand and implement security requirements.

The 2nd SCALE-MX Congress demonstrated: Data spaces are the key to resilient supply chains. Using the example of the semiconductor industry’s supply chain, the SEMICONDUCTOR-X project presented approaches for the digitalisation of supply chains in the semiconductor industry:
✅ Establishment of a sovereign data ecosystem
✅ Use of digital twins for planning and transparency
✅ Interoperability through data spaces and Tractus-X
Exciting discussions about standards, international cooperation, and the path to the Digital Product Passport made it clear: Digital transformation is not optional – it is essential.
This week, speakers from politics, business, and science will meet to discuss and exchange information on important topics such as Europe’s digital sovereignty, taking into account shared data and AI ecosystems, digital infrastructure, and the resilience and competitiveness of German industry.
In addition to support from representatives of the SEMICONDUCTOR-X project, one of our project partners will also be making an active contribution to the congress on a very important topic: Haris Avgoustinos from EXPO21XX will be moderating a workshop on End2End security together with Michael Jochem!

Mit über 200 Teilnehmenden vor Ort, 250 Livestream-Zuschauer:innen und 30 inspirierenden Sessions war die Green ICT Connect 2025 ein voller Erfolg!
Im Fokus standen Energieeffizienz, Dekarbonisierung und Ökobilanzierung – und die Frage, wie Forschung und Wirtschaft gemeinsam nachhaltige Lösungen für die IKT- und Elektronikbranche entwickeln können.
Unser Projekt SEMICONDUCTOR-X war von Joachim Reinhart (HQ Dielectrics GmbH) mit dem Vortrag „Projekt Semiconductor X: Ökobilanzierung und KI-gestützte CO₂-Optimierung der Plasmaoxidation als Prozessschritt in der Halbleiterproduktion“ vertreten.
Im Rahmen des Vortrags wurde auch Semiconductor X als Teil der Manufacturing-X – Initiative vorgestellt: Ziel des Projekts ist es, die Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit in der Halbleiterfertigung voranzutreiben. Gemeinsam mit Partnern aus Industrie und Forschung – darunter Intel Corporation, Bosch, mehreren Instituten der Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft sowie KMU wie HQ-Dielectrics GmbH entwickelt SEMICONDUCTOR-X Lösungen für Industriespezifische Anwendungscluster, die von nachhaltiger Prozesstechnologie über digitale Zwillinge bis zu resilienten Lieferketten reichen.
Im weiteren zeigte der Vortrag, wie sich am Beispiel der Plasmaoxidation die CO₂-Bilanz entlang der Halbleiterproduktion systematisch erfassen, bewerten und optimieren lässt.
