#Demonstrator: Data quality with #MachineLearning 🚀for #AI to work in #semiconductor manufacturing, data must be ready for it!

☑️ High data quality is not an end in itself: It is the foundation for reliable AI models, sound decisions, and a resilient value chain.
▶️ How do you assess whether data is truly ready for machine learning across company boundaries, without exposing sensitive information? 💡 🔍

As part of SEMICONDUCTOR-X, OptWare GmbH developed a #DataCompass:
👉 A solution that leverages the #EclipseDataspaceConnector (EDC) for sovereign data exchange
👉 #AssetAdministrationShell (AAS) as a standardized data format. AI Data Readiness and quality metrics are calculated automatically.
The structured feedback flows back to the data provider as a standardized AAS submodel – enabling transparency without compromising data sovereignty🔄🔐

What sets it apart: The assessment is intelligently processed and delivers concrete recommendations – from data cleansing to suitability for specific machine learning tasks 📈
See it live at HANNOVER MESSE 2026 – April 20–24, Hall A13! 📍

#Demonstrator: AI meets AAS

Fraunhofer IIS is developing a demonstrator in the context of the SEMICONDUCTOR-X project, will be showcased live at HANNOVER MESSE

🎯 Focus: AI applications built on the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) – interoperable, standardized, and designed across the entire semiconductor value chain.
🔎Use Case 1:
Data-driven production planning across complex supply chains
By combining probabilistic demand forecasting with stochastic optimization, the system generates robust decision support for:
🔹Production and inventory planning
🔹Scenario comparison
🔹Supply chain design
✅Goal: Global optimization despite uncertain demand and long lead times.

🔍Use Case 2:
Improving process transparency between material supplier and fab.
Using tabular machine learning and explainability methods, the demonstrator enables:
🔹Quality prediction
🔹Identification of process parameters influencing quality
🔹Tailored information in the CoA for downstream process steps
✅Goal: Higher quality and better cross-company alignment.

Built on IDTA, Catena-X and SEMI standards – extended with dedicated submodels for forecasting and optimization.

THIN[GK]ATHON in Munich

We will be part of this 3-day-event
hosted by SAP and Smart Systems Hub, supported by an impuls pitch of Intel

#Demonstrator1: First glimpse of our End-to-End Supply Chain Simulator 🚀

We are developing an end-to-end supply chain simulator for the semiconductor industry. It lets users set up, configure, simulate, and interactively visualize complex multi-tier supply networks.

This demonstrator lead by OmegaLambdaTec GmbH is part of the SEMICONDUCTOR-X R&D project, , which focuses on:
👉 Resilient 💪
👉 Recure 🔒
👉 Data-driven semiconductor supply chains 🔄

We use #digitaltwins and trusted data exchange to improve transparency and decision-making across the value chain. The demonstrator highlights real-world challenges, such as mitigating the bullwhip effect, and chiplet supplier exchanges and multi-tier sourcing dynamics.
Our goal: enable experimentation, optimisation, and visibility in one of the world’s most complex supply ecosystems📈

We’re excited to give a first DEMO and showcase at our booth HANNOVER MESSE 2026 (April 20–24) at Hall A13, the world’s leading industrial tech fair.
Looking forward to share more insights there.

The 5th Tractus-X Community Days are in the books!

The SEMICONDUCTOR-X project was once again delighted to take part in the Tractus-X Community Days to exchange expertise and learn new things! But this time, we also played an active role with our own contributions!

In their workshop on “Manufacturing-X End-to-End Security in Dataspace” Haris Avgoustinos from EXPO21XX and Pascal Birnstill from Fraunhofer IOSB demonstrated how important a cybersecurity business and architecture view is in order to increase impact and adoption. We have taken away important and interesting suggestions and ideas, which we will follow up on in the Topic Group and in our working groups within the project.

In their workshop „Use Case Traceability in SEMICONDUCTOR-X and cross dataspaces“ Tobias Kutzler from Fraunhofer IFF and Ingolf Gehrhardt from Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Dresden presented the challenges facing traceability in the semiconductor industry and the solutions offered by SEMICONDUCTOR-X that could deliver enormous optimization and savings potential. However, traceability does not end with the end product at the end of the supply chain in the semiconductor industry, as this is then incorporated into products in other industries, such as the automotive industry. It was therefore just as important to address the issue of cross-dataspace exchange! Thanks to Arno L. Weiß for an interesting exchange of information and immediate exploration on cross data space communication topics as well as Markus Reisch from Smart Systems Hub for your support with your Explore & Learn Environment.

Many thanks to the SEMICONDUCTOR-X project team for your participation and representation of the project:
Pascal Birnstill, Haris Avgoustinos, Tobias Kutzler, Ingolf Gehrhardt, Per-Henrik Addicks

As always, many thanks to the ARENA2036 team for organising and hosting the event:
Heike Wohlfeld, Bahaa Ziadah, David Görzig, Georg Schnauffer, Johannes Diemer

Of course, we would also like to thank Stephan Bauer and Mathias Brunkow Moser for guiding us through the event and the sessions!

We don’t have to just break down silos only in one ecosystem – we have to break them down between all industries to get efficient and more resilient ecosystems!

Our team has planned to join for the Sixth Tractus-X Community days in spring next year. Stay tuned to be the first to find out what we have planned!
